Death of Thang

Well I've checked in on Thang a couple of times over the last few months, or should I say I've tried to check in. Every server says 'Server under maintenance' and it's been like that for months. Checking the 'forums' (I use that word loosely as they're the 'messiest' forums I've come across in a good while!) reveals that there's nothing much going on, except the odd player complaint about the demise of the game. The last GM message was in September as far as I can see.. not a good sign. Players seem to think that ongameport are concentrating on Deicide instead and have abandoned Thang.
It's a shame, because Thang had some promising qualities, although the quest system was forever to be built, and it really is a very one-dimensional game. I'll always think fondly of it though, because it's the nearest I've ever got my OH to playing a fantasy MMORPG with me! We had some fun, hacking and slashing, and I'll miss the trade system a lot, even though something went bizzarely wrong with that quite some months ago, effectively ruining the best aspect of Thang, for me anyway. I wish GW had a system like that: trading in GW is abysmal! Maybe GW2 will be better...
